CVCC is excited to offer FREE Adult Education opportunities in the following areas: Basic Skills (English, Math, Reading, Social Studies, Science) English as a Second Language (ESL) Preparation for the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Batter (ASVAB) Preparation for the COMPASS test.

Improve your reading, math, vocabulary, English skills, and/or complete your high school equivalency or adult high school diploma. You can also learn to help your child with homework, or learn some skills to help you get a better job. Learn at your own pace in a classroom atmosphere in either Alexander or Catawba county.

The Adult High School (AHS) program is a free online option for earning an AHS diploma.Students can work from home at their own pace to complete their remaining high school credits. The program is open to students aged 16 or older.Students who are 16 or 17 years old must obtain a minor form from the Career and College Readiness Office and return it completed before admission.

Adult Basic Education (ABE) The Adult Basic Education program teaches basic skills to help adults survive in an adult world. Instruction is designed to assist individuals with learning to read, improving reading skills, math, and writing skills. Classes are available both on campus and at a number of off-campus locations for all program areas.
